 Kate and JP’s wedding was just that, a beautiful classic eastern shore celebration.  It shouldn’t surpise anyone that they chose June 5th as their wedding day.

 Kate represented June brides with beauty, sophistication and ease…

 JP kept the theme going with his green and blue color palette paired with khaki pants and a blue sportcoat

The pair chose the traditional route (surprise, surprise!) and exchanged vows in a simple church ceremony

The 240 year old plantation house now known as The Oaks served as the perfect host for the reception

 No detail was missed, and the junior bridesmaid’s and groomsmen looked perfect in their color coordinated bridal clothes…

A classic end to a perfect day…

Nicole + Jim

Nicole and Jim were featured on the blog theeastcoastbride.com!  In it, Nicole described her wedding at The Oaks:

“Though it may sound cliché, our entire weekend was everything we had hoped for and more. Summers in Maryland can be brutally hot and humid, but somehow we were lucky enough to have perfect 80 degree weather with no humidity; this really allowed all of our guests to enjoy the beauty and the slower pace of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The day before the wedding as well as the morning of, our friends and family that were staying at The Oaks were able to go canoeing, ride bikes, swim in the pool, and play horseshoes and shuffleboard.  It made us SO happy to see everyone having such a great time!”

Their day was beautiful and they took full advantage, beginning with…….amazing outdoor pictures of the wedding party!

The reveal…. a moment as sweet as, “I do”

Now onto the ceremony, out at the Point!

2011 was a busy year for us!

We hosted a wedding (sometimes two!) every weekend from the end of March (when we re-open for the season) right up to the weekend before Christmas.  We cherish each wonderful wedding and the families who made it possible.

We love to share our “Love Stories” because we think they capture not only the essence of a beautiful wedding day, but the essence of The Oaks.  Of course when editing , we were overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of the beautiful photographs submitted to us by the talented wedding photographers.  So, we thought we would use this retrospective, to feature some of the photographs we didn’t get a chance to to use (and some we did…but just loved!)

Our charming Boathouse is another option for a beautiful wedding ceremony.  It gives the feel of a small wedding chapel floating in the middle of Oak Creek

Our historic barns provide the perfect rustic backdrop for a great shot!

Though, the rest of the property added that special touch to the beauty of the day and the picture…
